Joshua Lee Patton – American Golf Foundation Charity Endowment

On behalf of Mr. Joshua Lee Patton, an East Point businessman and an ardent supporter of financially disadvantaged children in the City of East Point, along with his employees and customers at Central Station Bar & Grill; E. D. Cubed, Inc. established the Joshua Lee Patton – American Golf Foundation Charity Endowment in the amount of fifteen thousand dollars.

At the request of Mr. Patton, the American Golf Foundation chose E. D. Cubed, Inc. to disburse twenty-five thousand dollars to needy families in Atlanta, Georgia and East Point, Georgia. Mayor Earnestine D. Pittman, a Director of E.D. Cubed, Inc., held a press conference to announce the generous gift from Mr. Patton via the American Golf Foundation to the Mayors of Atlanta and East Point. A check for ten thousand dollars was presented to Atlanta’s Mayor Kasim Reed who in turn presented the check to the non-profit organization, Hosea Feed the Hungry. E. D. Cubed, Inc. distributed the remaining fifteen thousand dollars to needy families in East Point.

Prior to the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, twenty-six families with fifty children in pre-k through the twelfth grade were provided funding for back to school clothing and supplies totaling eleven thousand one hundred thirty-five dollars. The remaining three thousand eight hundred and sixty-five dollars were used to:

  • Purchase eyeglasses for a student at Conley Elementary School.
  • Pay a three hundred-fifty dollars utility bill for a family with both parents unemployed.
  • Provide families burned out of their homes at the Colony at Camp Creek Apartment Complex with:
  1. Twenty sets of full-sized bed frames, mattresses, and box springs.
  2. Three families received two hundred dollars each in cash.
  3. Complete sets of bed linen (two sheet sets, blanket, two pillows, and comforter) for three families.
  4. Kitchen and bathroom towel sets and assorted kitchen items for three families.

Joshua Lee Patton’s Endowment for Residents of East Point, Georgia (2009 Calendar Year)

Joshua Lee Patton, an East Point businessman and ardent supporter of the financially disadvantaged children in the City of East Point, has established an Endowment in the amount of $2,000.00 to purchase shoes and clothing, eyeglasses, hearing aids and cultural field trip tickets for any East Point resident student attending a public school in East Point.  The requirements for perspective students are listed below.

  • A counselor/teacher/social worker in the school must submit the Endowment application.
    • The student is deemed to be in financial need.
    • The student has a minimum 2.00 grade point average.
    • The student is deemed to have demonstrated a positive attitude.
    • The student agrees to participate in appropriate volunteer events according to his or her age and physical ability.

This Endowment provided the following assistance:

  1. School uniforms for twenty-one students at Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School.
  2. Eye glasses for two students at Conley Elementary School and for one student at Brookview Elementary School.
  3. Complete school wardrobe for a week for two Paul D. West Middle School students whose home was destroyed by fire.
  4. Winter coats for twelve students at Conley Elementary School.
  5. Medicine for a student at Oakknoll Elementary School.
